Wee Beastie is the result of a RMIT project. In this project we looked to the urban landscape of Melbourne for textile design inspiration creating a series of fictional characters that could be later translated into repeating patterns appropriate for children’s product.
I was inspired by the street art in Melbourne, and through that developed my own original wee beastie characters. Creating a sketch initially I then engineered a repeating pattern.
I used this pattern design to create a screen print series, where we were able to print long lengths of fabric by hand.
