Assemble
This concept explores zero waste in garment design, where the piece is created using three simple lengths of knitted fabric.
The garment is entirely constructed from knitted pleats, featuring a zero-waste pattern that allows for easy assembly and disassembly. I handcrafted the entire piece using an old knitting machine, with a strong emphasis on mastering the intricate knitting technique. Additionally, I hand-dyed the garment and applied the ombre effect with a brush. The final form of the garment was not predetermined; instead, its natural formation dictated the outcome.
Working within the constraints of sustainability influenced both the design process and the final garment. The limitations proved to be a source of innovation rather than restriction, resulting in a successful and unique piece.
